Regional Level Workshop on Personality Development
Organized by the IQAC, Scott Christian College (Autonomous)

             The UGC sponsored regional level workshop on Personality Development was organised by the IQAC of Scott Christian College (Autonomous), Nagercoil on 7th march 2009.
                                                                The IQAC Co-ordinator and the Reader in Commerce, Dr. M. Edwin Gnanadhas welcomed the gathering. The Vice Principal of the college, Prof. P. Edwin Singh Jayachandra presided over the function. The Dean of Research, Dr. S. Godwin Wesley felicitated the gathering. Students from various colleges affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli participated in the workshop.

             Dr. J. Dinakar Lal Thavamony, Former Professor – Department of English, Scott Christian College handled the first session on the topic Personality Development.

              In the second session Dr. Umayoru Bagan, Reader in Chemistry, Pioneer Kumaraswamy College, Nagercoil, gave a talk on Positive Thinking.

             The resource person for the third session was, Prof. D.S.V. Nagson, Department Head – Management Studies and Placement Officer of C.S.I. Institute of Technology, Thovalai. He presented views on Non-Verbal Communication – Body Language.

              Certificate for participation was distributed to all the participants. The day came to an end with the vote of thanks by Mrs. V. Bini Marin, Organising Secretary of the Personality Development Workshop.

Work Ethics and Values

           The UGC sponsored State Level Workshop on Work Ethics and Values for non-teaching staff was organised by the IQAC of Scott Christian College (Autonomous), Nagercoil on 16TH & 17TH March 2009


           The IQAC Co-ordinator and Reader in Commerce, Dr. M. Edwin Gnanadhas proposed the welcome address. The Principal of the college, Dr. S. Chellakumar Rose presided over the function. The distinguished Chief Guest of the day, Er. Ashokan Solomon, Chairman – Nagercoil Municipality, inaugurated the programme. Mr. A. Johnson, the Correspondent – Secretary of the college, felicitated the function. Non-teaching staff from various colleges of Tamilnadu participated in the workshop.


           Prof. A. James William, Selection Grade Lecturer, Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi, handled the first session on the topic, Work Values.


          The resource person for the second session, Mr. A. J. Vincent Thangaraj, Retd. Auditor gave a talk on the topic Work Ethics with lot of practical examples.


          On 17th March 2009, Dr. Muthunathan, Retd. Head - History Department, Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam handled the third session on the topic Time Management.


Mr. A. Johnson, the Correspondent – Secretary of the college handled the last session on the topic Auditing.


The Principal Dr. S. Chellakumar Rose and the Vice Principal, Dr. Rajini Balasingh distributed the certificates to all the participants. The day came to an end with the vote of thanks by Dr. Cyril Kanmony, Organising Secretary of the workshop.
